So long sweet summer..

So long sweet summer

I stumbled upon you and gratefully basked in your rays

So long sweet summer

I fell into you

Now you’re gracefully falling away . . .

Yet again I will have to say good bye to summer vacation and all its luxuries — to the endless hours of sleeping, gimmicks, more sleeping, surfing internet, watching tv, and, yes, more sleeping. It’s back to the real world. Back to school, and all the problems I have there that are still unresolved.

Bad_mood

I do feel really bummed about it, but yes, life goes on, and so I’d just do what I have to do. After all, there are many other things in school I could look forward to - like meeting my friends, and doing stuff for our organization… And who would forget about getting allowances?! Hahaha.

Hello 1st semester ‘07-’08!

Sched

Yikes.. But what’s this? I only got 15 units during pre-enlistment. I need another subject!! T.T

Hidden messages in Children’s Rhymes and Tales?

May 18th, 2007

I was surfing some website yesterday when I chanced upon the following text… And while these interpretations may be dismissed as plain old rumors which may or may not have any truth to them, I find it interesting to look at the following seemingly innocent rhymes and tales from a darker new perspective.

The Little Mermaid

In the original version of this tale, the one written by Hans Christian Anderson, the little mermaid doesn’t get to live as happily-ever-after as she does in other retellings such as Walt Diney’s. In her quest for the love of a human prince and for an eternal soul (according to the tale, mermaids don’t have souls like humans, and although they have a lifespan of around 300 years, when they die they merely turn into sea foam and cease to exist.), she made a deal with the sea witch, cutting off her tongue in exchange for a potion which turns her into a human. She must then make the prince fall in love with her and marry her or else she will die and turn into sea foam. However the prince falls in love with another girl and marries her. The little mermaid’s sisters eventually made another deal with the sea witch in exchange for their hair. According to the deal, the little mermaid’s life would be saved and she could return to her normal life in the sea if she stabs and kills the prince before sunrise. She refuses to do this and thus meets her end. However, even though she died she is given the chance to gain an eternal soul by the daughters of the air.

Yeah.

 Snow White

This is speculated to be about the 7 stages of cocaine addiction.

Snow white (cocaine) meets:

Dopey: That fun high you first get on your first try.

Happy: That euphoric feeling of being high.

Bashful: aka being shy or silent about your addiction, avoiding the subject etc.

Grumpy: When you’ve been confronted and forced to give it up.

Sleepy: When you are off the stuff at first you get really depressed and sleepy.

Sneezy: You also get really sick. ie: sneezing, chills, night sweats etc.

Doc: You see them either when you finally seek help. . . or when you’re dead.

 Sleeping Beauty

In other versions of this tale, she was not awoken by a kiss, but was actually raped by "Price Charming" and awoke from the stirring of her twin children being born… Think they lived happily ever after?

 Ring around the rosies
Pocket full of posies,

Ashes, Ashes,

We all fall down. . .

This was about the black plague.
The ring was one of the first signs of the deadly sickness.
The Posies were stuffed into the pockets of the dead to quench the smell.
‘Ashes to Ashes’ refers to man being created out of the ashes and returning to ashes in death.
And the falling down part refers to finally succumbing to death.

 London Bridge is Falling down

Falling Down, Falling Down

London Bridge is Falling Down

my Fair Lady

Vikings tied the bridge to their boats and tried to row away. . .
It fell down.
Oh yeah, and the fair lady was Queen Elizabeth.

Sing a song of six pence

A pocket full of rye

four and twenty blackbirds

Baked in a pie

When the pie was opened

the birds began to sing

isn’t that a dainty dish
to set before a king?

This was a recruitment tactic for pirates in the sixteenth century
the pie was the boat that would take the ship with about 24 buccaneers inside. Black birds were the pirates obviously and the king was Black beard himself. . .

Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pail of water

Jack fell down and broke his crown

And Jill came tumbling after

This was about the reign of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
Jack (George) and Jill (Mary) ascended to power to gain control of the waterways
The people revolted and killed Jack first (beheading)
And killed Jill after.

Fare Thee Well~

“Why can’t we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn’t work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos.”
