What’s been happening to me, in bullet-form
July 18th, 2007
- I finally got my own shiny death note. Didn’t get it from a shinigami though.
I bought (or rather, I asked my father to buy) it from Comic Alley. ^^
Now whose name should I write first? kkk (Btw, if you don’t know what’s
this death note I’m babbling about, well then, poor you.)
- Last Wednesday, me and my parents went to see Dr. Avila. I
underwent a biopsy procedure (no pics here, sorry.) Why? You see I have
had these strange little lumps at the back of my ears, and sometimes
one even grows on my neck. They are painless, and recurring little
things, and after about a year of having them I finally told my
parents, which of course, caused them to panic. Heh. Naturally we went
to a doctor, and she prescribed some strong antibiotics which I had to
take for a week (which was hard for me since I find it really difficult
swallowing even just a single tablet. =_=) After that, my lumps (or
rather, lymph nodes) didn’t show any signs of improvement (No use
choking on all those pills. T.T) so I had to have them biopsied. It was
a very quick procedure, but it did cost a lot, considering it’s only a
single prick of a needle. I know I’d sound cliche but it did feel like
you were bitten by an ant — only it wouldn’t let go for about 20
seconds. Ouch. Anyway, the results revealed that it was nothing
serious. Lymphadentitis, or lymph node swelling. Right now the swelling has subsided, but doc says we should continue observation for 3 months. - Anyway, right after that, we went to the movie premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
We watched it at the imax theatre at the SM Mall of Asia. I could say
it was a so-so movie. Nothing really spectacular compared to the past
Potter movies. The lady who played Dolores Umbridge was rather good
though. Oh, and Snape. Even though he played a very little role, he
managed to capture his character perfectly. ^^ The last 20 minutes of
the movie we got to see in 3-d. I don’t know why, but security was
rather lax inside the cinema, so people were able to take pictures
before the movie began. I have pics of me wearing these huge 3d
eyeglasses (yeah I looked like an insect), but I’ll upload them later.
[edit: My mom deleted the pictures from her cellphone!! She thought I had transfered them to the PC already... GRRR. >.< ]
- Now, I wrote a rather long-ish and detailed narration here of how I
was riding the MRT at night, on my way home, when this lady began
preaching inside the train. But my internet connection crashed (Arrgh!)
and so I had to re-do this part. Anyway, it was my first time to see
anyone preaching inside the MRT, and surprisingly this woman didn’t ask
for an money or donation before she left. I began to admire that
woman’s faith and her courage to speak up to people who most likely
weren’t going to listen. She reminded us to pray - a message which
struck me because there are times when I get so engulfed with my own
problems and issues that I just forget the One who has always been
there for me, even though I didn’t deserve the least of His help. I
began to ask myself, what have I been doing for God and for his glory?
Lately I have been what I always have been: a slack. God so help me, I
pray that I may be able to get rid of my laziness and focus on what I
need to do! Speaking of which, I have school work yet undone. Papers
for UP-SFC’s recognition have not been submitted either. *sigh* I
should get back to life now. Ciao!
